Your data stays
on your phone.
GraniteClarity is built so that the developer has nothing to collect. This page explains what the app stores, where it stores it, and what leaves the device.
1. Summary
GraniteClarity currently collects no personal data. The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party software development kits. Everything you do inside the app, from placing a practice order to reading a lesson, is recorded only on your device.
The developer does not operate a server for the app and has no way to see your practice ledger, your settings or your usage.
2. What the app stores on your device
The app keeps two kinds of information locally:
- The practice ledger: virtual balances, holdings, positions, orders, fills, transfers, IPO subscriptions, savings deposits, badges, streak and the equity curve. It is written as a single JSON file in the app's own Documents folder inside the iOS app sandbox.
- Preferences: your starting-capital tier, whether the welcome screen has been shown, and the haptic feedback switch. Watchlist entries and lessons marked as read are part of the practice ledger. These are stored in the app's standard preferences store.
Both are removed when you delete the app. iOS device backups made by you (iCloud Backup or a computer) may include this data as part of the normal device backup; that is controlled by your iOS settings, not by the app.
3. Backup files you export
Settings offers Export backup and Import backup. Exporting writes the ledger to a JSON file and hands it to the iOS share sheet; you choose where it goes (Files, AirDrop, a mail message and so on). The app does not upload the file anywhere and does not keep a copy outside its own folder. Importing reads a file you select and replaces the current ledger. You are responsible for the files you export and where you store them.
4. Network activity
The app does not request data from the internet. Prices, candles, trades and market events are produced by a deterministic engine inside the app, and the app works fully in Airplane Mode. The only network activity currently possible is started by you:
- Tapping Privacy policy in Settings opens this page on graniteclarity.com in an in-app browser (SFSafariViewController). That request is handled by Safari's engine and by the web host, and is subject to the host's standard server logs, which the developer does not combine with any app data.
- Tapping Support opens your mail app with a message addressed to [email protected]. Whatever you send is handled by your mail provider and read by the developer only in order to reply.
5. Permissions
The app does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data, notifications or advertising identifier. It uses the standard iOS document picker only when you choose to import a backup.
6. Children
GraniteClarity is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing to delete on request; removing the app removes its local data.
7. Your choices
- Reset practice account or Clear history in Settings removes ledger data while keeping the app installed.
- Deleting the app removes the ledger and preferences from the device.
- Exported backup files are under your control and can be deleted wherever you saved them.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes, such as adding any network feature, will also be described in the App Store release notes for that version.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected]. The app is published by an individual developer.
