Frequently asked

How things work.

How do I reset the practice account?

Open Overview, tap the gear icon in the top corner, then tap Reset practice account. A confirmation shows the tier that will be applied. Resetting clears balances, holdings, positions, orders, deposits and IPO subscriptions and refills the Spot account with the chosen starting capital. Lessons you have read and your streak are kept.

To change the tier ($10,000, $50,000, $100,000 or $250,000), tap Starting capital on the same screen. Choosing a tier also resets the account.

How do I put funds into Futures or Savings?

All new practice cash starts in the Spot account. Open Assets and tap Transfer between accounts, choose the from and to accounts, enter an amount and confirm. Transfers are instant and have no fee. The Futures ticket and the Savings deposit screen also offer a transfer shortcut when the target account is short of cash.

Why was my position liquidated?

Futures positions use isolated margin. When the mark price crosses the position's liquidation price, which is the point where the remaining margin falls to the 0.50% maintenance level, the position is closed and its margin is forfeited. Higher leverage places the liquidation price closer to the entry, so a small move can be enough. The liquidation price is shown on the ticket before you open and on the position row afterwards. Setting a stop-loss above the liquidation price closes the position earlier and keeps part of the margin.

Why can't I sell my IPO shares yet?

Allotted IPO shares are locked until the offering's lockup end date, which is printed on the offer sheet and on the holding row. During the lockup the shares appear in Holdings with a locked quantity and count toward your equity, but a sell order cannot be placed for them. Once the lockup ends they trade like any other Stocks board instrument. If you only requested lots and the window has not closed yet, the cash is still held and no shares exist until allotment.

How does backup import work?

Settings offers Export backup, which writes the entire ledger to a JSON file and opens the iOS share sheet so you can save it to Files or send it elsewhere. Import backup opens the document picker; the file you select replaces the current ledger completely, so export first if you want to keep what you have. A file that was not produced by GraniteClarity is rejected and nothing is changed. The starting tier recorded in the file is restored along with the rest of the ledger.

How are prices generated?

Every instrument has a fixed seed. A deterministic engine on your device combines a slow trend, a faster noise layer and the effect of scheduled board events to produce the same price history for that instrument on every device and every launch. Quotes carry a bid-ask spread that differs by board, candles are built from the same series at 1m, 15m, 1H, 4H and 1D, and the time and sales tape is derived from it as well. None of this is market data and none of it tracks any real asset.

What are the badges?

Twelve badges mark milestones in the practice venue: your first spot fill, trading on three boards, opening both a long and a short, protecting three positions with take-profit or stop-loss, experiencing a liquidation, subscribing to and receiving an IPO allotment, holding a fixed term to maturity, earning $100 of practice interest, transferring between accounts, a seven-day streak and finishing ten lessons. They are shown on the Overview tab and have no value outside the app.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Nothing in the app depends on a network connection. The only actions that use the network are opening the privacy policy page from Settings and sending a support email, both started by you.

Practice disclosure

GraniteClarity is an educational simulator. The five boards list fictional instruments with invented names and codes that do not represent any real company, currency, commodity, index or token. Quotes, candles, trades and events are produced by an engine running on your device and are not market data. Balances in the Spot, Futures and Savings accounts are virtual practice funds with no monetary value; they can be changed only by trading inside the app, moving them between the three accounts or resetting the practice account, and there is no deposit, withdrawal, purchase or transfer to any other person or service.

Leverage, liquidation, IPO subscriptions and savings terms are simplified models built for practice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any real asset, and practice results do not predict results in any real market.
